Benita Cegarra
Benita is an inspirational and emotive public speaker with a penchant for a challenge. A practical and pragmatic business trouble-shooter with twenty years experience under her belt, she is also one of only 35 RFU qualified female Rugby referees in England (there are over 4,000 qualified men!).
Benita’s philosophy is to embrace life, be tenacious and believe that you can achieve anything you want if you care enough about the outcome. Mark Twain’s quote, ‘Twenty years from now you’ll be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did’, is one of her favourite sayings and underpins her approach to the challenges that life inevitably throws at one.
Benita’s experience in the business world encompasses roles and assignments with blue chip companies such as BP, Shell, Castrol, Vodaphone and Dixons, to name but a few. Her superb communication skills, coupled with an uncanny ability to get under the skin of a problem swiftly, have led to the successful facilitation of major global Change Programmes.
Increasingly over the years, Benita has been asked to impart her business knowledge to a wider audience through a variety of speaking engagements and workshops. Her two favourites subjects, and the most well received, have been ‘The Five I’s to Successful Implementation’ and ‘Get Off the Touchline …and Make a Difference’. At Nigel’s invitation she has now added ‘Zoo Keeping - the New Rules for Communication’ to her subject portfolio.
Fluent in English, French and German, Benita has also been asked to speak and facilitate at a number of European events.
Author of the motivational book ‘Get Off the Touchline … and Make a Difference, Benita is also Chairman of the Gloucestershire branch of the Institute of Directors and has a BA (Hons) in International Marketing.
